Safeguarding at Prep
Keeping students safe online is not an afterthought — it is built into how we hire, train, deliver lessons and respond to concerns.
How we keep students safe
Every item below is part of our standard provision, not an optional extra.
Safer recruitment for every tutor
We follow safer-recruitment practice at every step: identity checks, full employment history, two professional references, and an enhanced DBS certificate verified before a tutor teaches their first lesson.
Enhanced DBS checks
Every tutor and member of staff who works with children holds an enhanced DBS certificate. We recheck these on a rolling basis and keep records up to date.
A named safeguarding lead
Prep has a designated safeguarding lead who is contactable during all lesson hours and oversees any concern, query or disclosure.
All lessons are recorded and retained
Every live lesson is recorded and stored securely. This protects students and tutors, supports quality review, and means any incident can be investigated quickly.
Secure online classrooms
Lessons run through password-protected, waiting-room-enabled video classrooms. Only enrolled students can join, and tutors control admission to every session.
Clear code of conduct
Students, tutors and parents agree to a simple behaviour policy before lessons start. It covers respectful communication, appropriate use of chat and camera, and what happens if standards slip.
Parent visibility
Parents can drop into any live lesson. You will also receive regular written updates so you always know what was covered and how your child is progressing.
Straightforward reporting
If something does not feel right, you can speak to the safeguarding lead directly by phone or email. Every concern is logged, reviewed and acted on promptly.
Annual safeguarding training
All tutors and staff complete annual safeguarding and child-protection training, including online safety, signs of concern and how to escalate.
No one-to-one private contact
Tutors communicate with students through Prep channels only. Personal contact details are never shared, and all messaging is visible to the programme team.
Concerned about something?
If you have a safeguarding question or concern, please contact our safeguarding lead directly. We take every report seriously and will respond within 24 hours.
